Darling Harbour

Our visit to Darling Harbour was combined with seeing my parents off, at Central Station They enjoyed a 3 day trip on the Indian Pacific to Perth, crossing 2 state borders over the Nullabor Plain. It was a hot day and a great one for photo taking!

A little gangplank, taking you from the jetty to the pontoon

A few of the city's buildings and part of Centrepoint Tower

Steel, wood and water

A lantern at the end of the Pyrmont
Bridge

Centrepoint Tower's 'head'

A lighthouse with magnificent views! I didn't dare go up at
first (not keen on heights) but after a short while, I did.....

...and I am glad I did! This is the James Craig, part of the
Sydney Heritage Fleet

A cast-iron bracket supporting the upper-most
walkway of the lighthouse

Reflections...

The good old Ferris Wheel...

The gulls were having a frolic in the water, they were hot too!

The massive train that Mum and Dad spent three nights on.
They absolutely LOVED it!

Their compartment included a shower, toilet, a bunk bed
 and a table

This wall of flags caught my eye...

The view of Darling Harbour from the city end of the
Pyrmont Bridge

Along this walkway was the Lindt Chocolat Cafe,
we enjoyed a delicious ice-cream with warm
fudge in the bottom of the cone

The stern of the paddle steamer
