Palm Beach - Part 1

Palm Beach! This suburb is a fair hike from the west, but well worth the visit :-) We stopped at some lovely beaches and surrounding areas, resting our feet and satisfying our hunger at "The Greedy Goat" for some delicious lunch. The first four photos are of Whale Beach, the following five were 'snapped' at Snapperman's Beach and the last one is of Station Beach (which is on the other side of Palm Beach). Tune in next week for images of the 'actual' Palm Beach). In the meantime, enjoy these!

Oh and don't forget to 'click on the pic' for better and bigger looking images!

The end bit of Little Head...

Yep, I could DEFINITELY trek up those stairs everyday!

The view of Whale Beach from the top of Little Head.

Another gorgeous view from there...

The first thing I saw as I stepped out of the
car, at Snapperman's Beach.

A couple of sailboats, nice way to spend the day :-)

This sure beats a driveway!

Nothing but an empty shell...

A bee was nice enough to sit still for a wee while...

A sailin' kinda day :-)

Lake Parramatta Reserve

A return to a wonderful place last weekend... We walked the Lake Circuit Trail (about 8 km) and it was just beautiful, nature never ceases to amaze me. We had a lovely afternoon and I hope you enjoy the following photos. Remember to click on them for a larger view!

Do you know about my partner, Ray's website? It's www.rayscam.com
take a look!

I so wanted to be this little ducky! It was a hot one!

Stepping stones...

Sunlit green...

Arching tree.

We came across many of these!

Looks like a mini cauliflower.

Another one jumps in! Although he looks as if he's
water skiing

A great place for reflecting ;-)

From the 'acacia' family perhaps?

Nature being impressionistic...

Got a fave? Let me know, I'd love your input :-)

Castle Hill Heritage Park

Last Saturday, we discovered one of Sydney's little hidden gems... Smack bang in the middle of surburbia, lies Castle Hill Heritage Park. We followed the paths throughout the lush, green bushland coming across beauty at every turn. It was lovely and quiet and a pleasure to walk among such beautiful trees and the odd rabbit and kookaburra...

Remember, if you click on a photo, it enlarges it for better viewing!

New life!

One of many stunning trees.

A green fan...

Entangled.

Spikey!

Parasites growing?

Can you see me, among the 'faces' of the tree?

Trunks.

Let's see if I can walk in a straight line...

Casting a shadow...

Got a favourite? Let me know; I value your opinion :-)

Ropes Crossing

We went to Ropes Crossing (a new-ish suburb just down the road) yesterday and got lost in the bushland surrounding it. There was plenty of beauty to be seen, you just had to open your eyes ;-)

Gorgeous grevillea.
Prickly!
Dramatic...
Cool contrast.
Up close and personal...
Pretty purple :-)

Between a rock and a hard place.

Rail & Sail

Last week we went on a magical train ride on the Legend of Steam 3526 to Wollongong. It was such fun and an amazing experience. We had fish and chip at Wollongong Harbour before heading back to Sydney by boat. 'twas a bit choppy out at sea and at some stage I did need a little fresh air, but it was fun fun FUN!! For the good folks in and around the Sydney area, if this appeals to you, visit http://www.heritageexpress.com.au/pages/tours-events/2011-11-001-TEOS.htm It's on again in November :-)

A tiny glimpse of the train...

A look I fancied...we had stopped for a bit.

The small hallway beside the carriage.

Not quite as 'steamy' as I had hoped as
I took the shot, but you get the idea...

After arriving at Wollongong.

Detail of the "Legend".

Leaving the station, with all the crew...

The catamaran that took us back to Sydney.

Not much to see out there!

The back of the boat, as we were nearing the 'heads'
