An afternoon in Darling Harbour

Last Saturday we headed into the city to check out the 2011 Imaging and Entertainment Expo at Darling Harbour. Although we didn't walk away with a brand new camera or a whiz-bang tripod for those night shots or windy days, we did manage to snap the beauty of this part of Sydney.

Before we headed to Darling Harbour, we grabbed  a
coffee at the New York Metro Café, where I captured
this water feature.

On our way there, I spotted part Centrepoint
Tower in the windows of this building.

A bit further along, this structure
appealed to me.

Some foliage at Darling Harbour.

A photographic display at the Expo.

Hmmm, I wonder if I ever get snapped while I am
busy snapping?

The buildings are starting to change colour as the
afternoon sun goes down.

The Monorail along the Pyrmont Bridge.

Some detail of a building as the afternoon sun glows on it.

This one is almost pink as it bathes in the sun.

Kurrajong

Yesterday we visited the very lovely Kurrajong Village. We stopped at Sassafras Creek Café, recommended by my brother, where we enjoyed a latte and some lovely live music. It's a quaint little town and we took great pleasure in walking along the main street past the wonderful little shops... I took a mixture of photos there, some abstract, a few signs and a little bit of nature too. I hope they are pleasing to the eye :-)

The window of Kurrajong Kurries.

Another window, different shot...

Where we had a latte and enjoyed live jazz, was lovely!

On our 'to do' list?

We both spotted this one! Hard not to ;-)

Red-hot poker close up.

A sweet old dog on the driveway,
guarding his owner's home.

Beautiful proteas at a shop front.

We stopped at the Hawkesbury River on the way home.

A south coast visit ~ Kiama, Gerringong, Gerroa, 7 Mile Beach, Shoalhaven Heads and Berry.

The following photos are from all these places, as we visited the south coast area overnight. My parents live in the area so this trip is done frequently and with great pleasure. As you can see, it is a stunning place to be!

A lone surfer at Bombo beach, Kiama.

The waves coming in, still at Bombo beach.

Untouched...

Nature showed off a stunning rainbow,
unfortunately my lens could not capture all of her!

An early morning shot of Gerringong beach.

As it got windier, the sand lifted off the beach
making me wish I had put on my sunglasses after all...

Part of a bridge two brave girls were fishing on. This
crossed a small river that ran into the ocean at 7 Mile Beach.

Semi-rough seas at 7 Mile Beach, Gerroa.

At Shoalhaven Heads, a lovely
(but cold on this particular day) place to sit.

The evening offered us a fiery sunset, which
was the background for this last photo I took in Berry.

Fagan Park - Part 2

Welcome back to Fagan Park, enjoy your 'walk' through this wonderful place!

You can lead the way, or be led.

Beautiful clouds.

The old blacksmith's shed.

Yellow plough.

The blacksmith's tools.

An old water pump.

Grandfather's (or old man's) beard on a gate.

Part of a palm hanging over the roof of an old farmhouse.

Norfolk pine trunks.
