Woolich and Brays Bay Reserve

We braved a cold and windy afternoon and headed to Hunters Hill on Saturday afternoon. Then we visited Brays Bay Reserve at Concord for a little while and were there until the sun was setting, it was lovely...

The city skyline from Clarke's Point at Hunters Hill.

The bench...

A little afternoon sun trying to get through the trees.

Getting dark again...

Mangroves on the riverbank.

Chain links.

Kokoda Trail Memorial track.

Some brightness coming from
the murky waters.

The sun setting a glow on the river...

A mixture...

Due to my ill health, we didn't head out anywhere this weekend. So I chose a (somewhat odd, perhaps) mixture of photos to share with you :-)

Centre Place, Melbourne.

Acacia bee.

Our sweet girl, Allie.

Bulli Tops.

Inside The Edge, Federation Square (Melbourne).

A galah snacking on the grounds at my work.

sometimes...

Richmond

Last Friday we enjoyed an afternoon out with my nephew, Nicky. We first dropped him at an Art Workshop and wandered the streets of Richmond and after picking him up we discovered Pughs Lagoon, just on the outskirts of town. We had some lunch there and then walked along the water to take in the beauty. Here is some of it:

Two windows of an old building in town that caught my eye.

A statue in a garden of a grand old house.

I thought this home was quite lovely; the colour of the
house combined with the green grass and blue sky did
something for me...

Some detail of the home, yes I have a thing for windows.

There were plenty of geese around here at Pughs Lagoon,
they can be very noisy and as Nicky found out,
a tad aggressive if you come too close!

This little 'willy wagtail' happened upon a nice big
meaty bone that a dog didn't seem to interested in...

The family Swan...

A little cygnet wandered off on it's own...

Such graceful creatures.

A bit of green...

Macquarie Park - Windsor

Last Friday we headed off to Windsor. A lovely town with a smorgasbord of potential photographs to be seen, we parked the car at Macquarie Park and took a walk along the bridge. We meandered along the Hawkesbury River for a bit, before heading back and spending some time in the park. These are the images I favoured, for your pleasure, I hope :-)

The bridge taking you into Windsor...

A view towards a little sandy beach.

Reflections on the river...

...and on the other side.

A couple at the jetty, oblivious to
my camera...

The flowers of a castor oil plant.

Yellow!

A pair of dusky moorehens.

I loved the look of the leafless tree with the water
background.

This shot took me ages and gave me a lovely little
wet patch on the knee part of my jeans,
but I'm happy with  this image :-)

An afternoon in Darling Harbour

Last Saturday we headed into the city to check out the 2011 Imaging and Entertainment Expo at Darling Harbour. Although we didn't walk away with a brand new camera or a whiz-bang tripod for those night shots or windy days, we did manage to snap the beauty of this part of Sydney.

Before we headed to Darling Harbour, we grabbed  a
coffee at the New York Metro Café, where I captured
this water feature.

On our way there, I spotted part Centrepoint
Tower in the windows of this building.

A bit further along, this structure
appealed to me.

Some foliage at Darling Harbour.

A photographic display at the Expo.

Hmmm, I wonder if I ever get snapped while I am
busy snapping?

The buildings are starting to change colour as the
afternoon sun goes down.

The Monorail along the Pyrmont Bridge.

Some detail of a building as the afternoon sun glows on it.

This one is almost pink as it bathes in the sun.
